So it's been awhile since we've updated our blog! Here's what's been going on in the Cain household since October!
Derek is loving his new job! We are so thankful for the better hours:) Cooper and the wifey are glad to see him more! I've been working hard at school. Each day brings a new challenge. The week before Christmas break we took our students to camp for two days! It was very exciting! We hiked five trails and did lots of experiments including dissecting owl pellets. We stayed late one night and had a bonfire! We make smores and told campfire stories!! We had such a great time!:) I am very blessed to work with five fabulous ladies on my team! This semester has been wonderful because of them. My students are so kind and caring! This year's class is so different from last year. Last year my whole class was so innocent. This year I have a mix of immature kiddos and little adults. They keep me on my toes! We've worked very hard on building each other up and I'm so pleased with the way they treat each other. It's hard to believe that the year is almost half way over! Our parents are wonderful this year. They have been very supportive! I have fabulous room Moms who get together and pray for each class and teacher. How amazing!!:)
As I type this little Coop Coop is resting his head on my lap. He wanted me to write about his puppy classes. As you know, Cooper graduated from his puppy class in September! He was the valedictorian, for sure! We started Intermediate classes in November. He had a wonderful trainer and have learned things like how to heel and properly greet people. A few weeks before Christmas our classes were canceled because the trainer no longer worked for PetSmart. We are still working on the skills we learned and look forward to new classes which should start in March.
We spent Thanksgiving with D's family and Christmas with mine. Shannon and Blake came to visit over Thanksgiving, which was awesome! We've really missed them! I'm so glad to have another sister and a brother that I get along with so well!:) Blake taught Coop some new tricks, which Coop LOVED!!! Cooper was very fond of Shannon. It was fun for them to see how much Cooper looks like their black lab, Emmett. We wish Em and Coop could get together....they would have a ball! This year I had an extra special birthday present...my grandparents came in town! They stayed until a few days before New Years. We had a great time with them!:) Our cars took many trips down to Arlington over the holidays. Courtney and Abbey are still in town. Abbey loves to play with Coop...which is quite amusing! Most 10 pound dogs are afraid of our 50 pound bouncy lab! Needless to say, Holly Mae still dislikes the Coop. The Christmas season was filled with many blessings:)
And the news we've been dying to tell you.....
We're going to have our first nephew very soon!!! D's sister, Shannon, is pregnant with a little boy! We didn't want to tell everyone their good news before they got the chance, so we've been leaving the info off our blog. Shannon is 28 weeks pregnant. The peanut, as the nephew is affectionately know, is doing really well! Shan found out that she has placenta previa and will be spending the rest of her pregnancy on bed rest at the hospital. The peanut will come into this world sometime in the middle of February! We are overjoyed that we get to be Auntie L and Uncle D!!!:) Please be praying for Shannon and the peanut! It has been so exciting to hear about the new additions to your families! Congrats to Jason and Lauren on little Riley! Congrats to Paul and Jenn on little Cooper!:)
